Description I:

Structured documents are an important method of facilitating the exchange of information to support care. Documents are often considered to be more permanent in nature; messages are often considered to be more transitory in nature. Examples of structured documents include: a referral from a primary care physician to a specialist; a medical summary; a discharge instruction for the patient.

Criteria N:
TI.5.1.2#01 SHALL

The system SHALL provide the ability to exchange structured documents according to scope of practice, organizational policy, and/or jurisdictional law.
